What is “The Journey Campaign”?
(return to questions)

We believe it is God’s desire for Crossroads Ministries to move forward in its journey to reach people with his life-changing message.  Just as God as been faithful in the days of our past; we believe he has given us new days ahead!  In every journey there are new horizons to move towards.  With each new horizon comes new opportunities to partner with God in further establishing HIS Kingdom for HIS glory!  Our journey is moving us towards these new horizons of opportunities. This “JOURNEY” campaign seeks to challenge every person who calls Crossroads Ministries their home, to enter into a time of personal and spiritual growth as we take this journey together!

Why are we doing this campaign? (return to questions)

This 3 year campaign initiative will help each of us individually and as a family, to grow, organize, and serve God in a faithful and forward looking manner.  We believe that it is God’s desire for us here at Crossroads to serve Him in every increasing ways in our surrounding community and world.  In order to accomplish this, we must eliminate the debt that is currently draining much needed resources so we can be more effective. Time is short. Eternity is at the door! We want more people to  know the abundant life that God has available for us all. This IS a JOURNEY and this JOURNEY CAMPAIGN is the vehicle that will help us implement the compelling vision of Crossroads.  A capital campaign is a sign of life and growth and we thank God he has blessed us with this life and growth!

What is my part? (return to questions)

After prayerful consideration, we want every regular attender at Crossroads Ministries to ask one simple question: “Lord, what would you have me do in the area of spiritual growth, ministry service and financial giving for the sake of your kingdom?” If every person will do this and follow whatever God leads, then our JOURNEY will be successful and something to celebrate!

How do I determine what God wants me to give? (return to questions)

In 2 Corinthians, the apostle Paul shares these words: “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  As you have witnessed here at Crossroads, prayer is the key for everything we do. Our hope is that you will prayerfully ask God how he wants your household to contribute to the expansion of his kingdom in this community. While all of us cannot give the same dollar amount, each of us can share the JOURNEY through equal sacrifice!

How will commitments be made? (return to questions)

Your financial commitment can be made either by giving weekly, monthly or quarterly over the next 3 year period.  Pledge cards will be made available for each family to take home and pray about the amount you believe God would have you pledge.

Can my commitment be changed if necessary? (return to questions)

Absolutely. You may increase or decrease you commitment at any time during the campaign, as the Lord leads you. If you desire to change your commitment, please contact the church secretary for bookkeeping purposes.

Will monetary commitments be made public? (return to questions)

We will only specify the total dollar amount being pledged. Individual names and individual pledges will not be made public. Because of our bookkeeping procedures only the Senior Pastor and church secretary will be aware of individual  pledges.

When do I begin to give? (return to questions)

Sunday, March 16, 2008 is our First Fruits Sunday.  This will be the kick-off for us to begin our campaign giving. Plan now to bring your first financial amount on this day. How much you bring is up to you. Also, your pattern of giving after that Sunday; whether its on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis is strictly up to you.

What are the goals of the Journey Campaign? (return to questions)

Currently, we carry a $1.6 million debt load. This translates into a $12,501 interest payment each and every month.  We would like to eliminate this entire debt so that the church can position itself to be a greater ministry impact in our community.

While this financial goal is aggressive, it is very much within our reach if every person who calls Crossroads their church home would commit themselves financially.

This financial decision is a spiritual decision. The New Testament teaches us cheerful giving has a progression in obedience.  First, the Bible teaches that we are to give the first 10% (the tithe). Obedience here  acknowledges  God’s provision in your life and allows the current ministries to thrive.

Next, we are to give offerings. Ask God to open your eyes and heart to situations that arise during your JOURNEY at Crossroads. In praying for guidance, pray specifically about making a faith pledge to God that you can give to this campaign. Each family must seek God’s wisdom about such a commitment.

Finally, sacrificial giving is something God births in the hearts of His people. Sacrificial giving  is when a person rearranges his or her lifestyle so they can give to a God-birthed opportunity, such as our JOURNEY CAMPAIGN. As in any birth, sacrificial giving will bring forth much joy and growth of faith when it’s accomplished. Sacrificial giving will help us fulfill the vision of reaching 1000+ souls for His Kingdom.
