Welcome to podcasting, one of the most exciting and useful Internet applications. This is still a relatively young technology, so a little background information will help you get the most out of it.
Podcasting, which comes from merging the words iPod and broadcasting, is a way to deliver audio files (podcasts) to your PC or portable MP3 player (e.g. iPod), so you can listen to them whenever and wherever you want. You can download the MP3 file by finding the sermon you want to save and then click on the Details Tab. The second icon on the upper icon bar is the Download MP3 button. Or, you can select the sermon you want to save in the Archives or Details window and select the Podcast icon in the lower right corner of this window. From here you can download this file as well.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to subscribe to one or more podcasts, such that new sermons and other audio content (episodes) can be automatically downloaded to your computer and/or iPod as they become available on our webpage. To benefit from this feature, you will need to install an RSS client (a.k.a. "news reader", "podcast aggregator" or "podcatcher"). Free RSS clients include (which comes with iPods) and (a.k.a. Juice). To subscribe to one of our podcasts using one of those clients, either:
- Podcast icon in the lower right corner of the Sermon Player. From here you can subscribe to the RSS feed tied to your desktop or to auto-subscribe to or (a.k.a. Juice).
