  • John Sauls III (J3)
    John Sauls III (J3) Lead Pastor

    After a year transition from his father Pastor John, Pastor J3 took over as Lead Pastor of Crossroads Ministries in 2015. After 23 years with IBM, Pastor J3 accepted the call to ministry in 2014. After serving in ministry for 20 plus years on a volunteer basis in various capacities, including Men’s and Youth Pastor, his experience in the corporate world as well as the church world give him an invaluable edge to lead. He and his wife Caroline live in Sanford, NC with one son named Gabriel.

  • Chris Pipes
    Chris Pipes Executive Pastor

    Pastor Chris is originally from California and graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies from Westmont College. As of July 2016, Pastor Chris accepted the role of Executive Pastor here at Crossroads Ministries. He brings a wealth of experience as he has been in ministry for over 23 years. His experience spans Worship, Biblical Discipleship, Connect Groups, First Touch, Next Steps and Care Pastor. He and his wife Debi have 2 children, Noah and Sawyer.

  • Rob Costelow
    Rob Costelow Worship Pastor

    As of July 2016, Pastor Rob Costelow accepted the job as Lead Worship Pastor here at Crossroads Ministries. He is originally from Arizona and started as a Missionary in Mexico. Pastor Rob is a talented Worship Pastor who has been in the ministry of over 24 years. He has experience as a Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor and he has succeeded as a Contemporary Christian Artist. He is a published singer and songwriter and he is passionate about enabling the body of Christ to grow through Praise and Worship. He and his wife Adela live in Sanford, NC.

  • Nicole Cannaday
    Nicole Cannaday Student Ministries Director

    Nicole grew up in Temecula, Ca. She made a decision to follow Jesus at a young age. Nicole is passionate about teaching children and teens about seeking and developing a relationship with Christ.  She enjoys working with teachers and developing programs that train children to serve God and reach others through love and their giftings. She taught at Western Harnett High School as a special education teacher and volunteered with the Crossroad’s students for four years before joining our staff in the fall of 2011. Nicole received a bachelor’s degree in education and childhood development from Marist College in 2003, and a Masters degree in Educational Psychology in 2004. She is also certified in Teen Christian Counseling by the American Association of Christian Counseling. Nicole currently serves over our nursery, preschool, elementary, and teen programs. She is married to Rob and they have three children. She loves coaching girls’ softball, doing outdoor activities and hanging out with friends.

  • David Heimbecker
    David Heimbecker Youth/Young Adult Pastor

    Pastor David, having moved to Sanford NC in 1995, has returned with his family from Clearwater FL.  While in School at UNCW, David developed a passion for youth, and eventually graduated with a business degree, but took a full time job as a youth pastor in western NC.  David eventually left full time ministry and began establishing a career as a Neurodiagnostic technician.  His career in the medical field took him from Raleigh NC, to Clearwater FL, but he never stopped serving in the local church.  He has played valuable roles in starting and empowering children’s ministries, teaching leadership training, and adult ministries.  After much prayer and fasting, David decided to leave his career in the medical field to go back into full time ministry, working with youth and young adults.  He has a heart to empower and equip the next generation to know their true identity, and become who they were destined to be.  He currently lives in Sanford with his wife Jennifer and their 4 kids.

  • Andrew Jackson
    Andrew Jackson Associate Worship Pastor

    Pastor Andrew was born and raised in Sanford, NC. While in high school he developed a heart for leading worship. He attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA in the fall of 2015 and graduated in the spring of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Music and Worship Studies and a minor in business. After completing multiple internships at Crossroads, he officially came on staff as the Associate Worship Pastor in May 2019. Andrew’s passion is to lead others into a renewed intimacy with God by equipping their hearts with a desire to worship God. He and his wife Kayla currently live in Sanford, NC

    John Sauls Pastor Emeritus

    Pasor John has served Crossroads Ministries as Senior Pastor for over 20 years. In that time he has seen the church grow from 35 people in 1995, to over 700 in 2016. Today, Crossroads continues to make an impact in the lives of individuals and in our community. He and his wife Mardie live in Sanford. They have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren.

    During 2015/2016 Pastor John turned over all leadership responsibility to his son, Pastor John Sauls, III (Pastor J3). Moving forward Pastor John will serve as Pastor Emeritus, continuing to preach and provide leadership support to our Crossroads staff.
